Mason-Dixon Finale Rescheduled

Due to the excessive amount of rain recieved over the last few days, we have decided to cancel racing tomorrow and reschedule the finale to Saturday, Oct 26.  If the rain were to stop soon, the track is still too wet for us to do any maintenance to prepare the track for a race tomorrow, so it is best to move it to the 26th.

See everyone then!

9/21 Race Canceled

XRC is cancelling our 9/21 race due to predicted low turn out as a result of other races in the region.  Sounds like a great time to check out some of the other tracks!

7/13 Weatherman Rant (Race Update)

So it's been interesting watching the weather reports for the last few days.  Let's just say, weathermen suck and really don't know what's going on.  On Thursday, Friday and Saturday were supposed to be clear.  On Friday, as you all well know, it poored all day and the forecast was for rain all weekend (through next Thursday actually).  Now it's almost 9AM Saturday, it's calling for cloudy skies until around 1PM and then Isolated Thunder storms, but only 30% chance.

So all I know is I'm headed up to the track in a few minutes and see what we need to do to get the tracked dried out.  I believe we'll need to pick up a few more bags of saw dust, but assuming it doesn't rain anymore this morning, we will be ready for our evening race.

See everyone out there.

ROAR Region 2 Series Finale This Saturday

This weekend, XRC will be hosting the finale of the ROAR Region 2 Points Series.  The series brings together the hottest hitters from across the region to crown the 1/8th scale offroad champtions for the region.

Practice begins at 7AM, racing will begin by 10AM.

See everyone this weekend!

June 29 Evening Cash Race

SATURDAY UPDATE #2 (12:00 PM):  Track is turning out in great shape.  Drying out nicely under the hot sun.  Schedule remains the same for the evening.  2-4PM practice, 5PM racing begins.

SATURDAY UPDATE #1 (9:30AM):  Track is wet with no standing water.  Should dry through the morning.  We will evaluate around noon time if any wood shavings are needed.  Update should come around that time as well.

Just a reminder to everyone, Saturday June 29 will be XRC's first evening and first cash race of the season.

Race entries will be $25 per class, with 50% retained for cash payouts.  Top 3 finishers will receive payout up to 8 drivers per class, next highest finisher will receive a payout for the 9th and every 3rd entry after that.  For example, if there are 22 entries in a class, payouts will be made down to the 8th place finisher.  Break outs will be determined based on total class entries.

Track will be open from 2PM until 4PM for practice with signups occuring during this time.  The 3 rounds of qualifying will begin at 5PM, and mains will start at approximately 9PM under the lights.  Track will also be open for practice from 9AM until Noon, but then closed at noon for any final maintenance we will need to make.

Qual points qualifying will be in effect for all evening races.  Read more about how qual points work here.

Bring your friends!  More people means more likely you go home with fatter pockets!

August 31 Race Cancelled

We are cancelling our August 31 race in order to prep the track for the upcoming ROAR race the following weekend, September 7.  We expect a large turn out for the 7th and want to ensure the track is in shape.

Additionally, we will be holding an open practice the evening of Friday, September 6th for anyone wanting to come up early to spend some time on the track prior to the race on Saturday.  RVs are welcome, just email ray -at- xrcraceway.com (or use the Contact Us link at the top of the page) and let us know when you will be arriving so we can figure out electrical hookups.

Thanks!

6/15 Race -- It's On!

New layout looks sweet, but I may be biased... :D

We are racing tomorrow 6/15, but the track still need piping to be put down, so we may need to delay the start of the race day a bit to accomplish this. The rain the last few days really hindered the amount of time we could spend rebuilding the track, so while right now the track is in great shape, we still have yet to put the piping down. Typically it takes about 90 minutes for 4-5 guys to bang it out, and we plan to start at about 7AM. Any additional help we can get would be greatly appreciated.

For tomorrow: We will run practice until 11:30, then drivers meeting and first heats at noon.

See everyone in the morning. Should be a great day of racing!

MDS Race #4 7/20 moved to an evening race

This weekend's Mason-Dixon Series Race #4 at XRC has been moved to an evening race.  Practice will be from noon untl 2PM, racing will begin at 3PM.  We have certainly found that track to be better in the later hours of the day with the sun setting; definitely holds moisture better and requires less maintenance.

Looking at getting points posted shortly.  Sorry for the delay in this...

Track Rebuild Update / Help Wanted

As many of you are aware, we had a lot of rain this week. The track is almost ready, we only have to resurface part of the track, water and roll everything good, and repipe the track.

One way or another, we will work as late as we need to in order to get the track ready for Saturday morning. There is absolutely no water issue, despite the rain, and we should be able to finish the track tomorrow to race Saturday... but any help we can get would be greatly appreciated!

To show our appreciation, anyone that can show up tomorrow after work or school to lend a hand will receive a free class entry (that can be used at any club race in 2013) as well as free practice Friday evening once we are finished (until 10PM, under the lights and lap counter on, too). Most of the work should be done by 6PM, we would just need to put the piping down... and this is just one of those jobs that goes a lot faster with more people helping out.

So that's the deal... give us a hand Friday night, race for free on Saturday.
