SECTION I
STANDING TRACK RULES
(1) These rules will govern all events.
(2) XRC Raceway members, participants, manufacturers and race promoters agree to comply with these rules and regulations.
(3) XRC Raceway henceforth called XRC may act at any time before, during or after the event to change anything that XRC officers believe to be in the best interest of the sport.
(4) No implied or expressed warranty or safety shall result from publication of, or compliance with these rules and regulations. They are intended as guidelines for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury of any sort to participants, spectators or others.
(5) XRC, its officers, directors or staff assume no responsibility, legal or otherwise for the failure or malfunction of any product or equipment used at an XRC event. A copy of the rules and regulations are available upon request to anyone who would like a copy since all participants need to know and obey these rules and regulations.
(6) The participants must ensure transmitter frequencies are not in use and frequency conflicts do not occur during non-organized events.
(7) The use of R/C transmitters and frequencies is restricted to authorized participants during organized racing events.
(8)If there is a frequency conflict after the mains are set up, the lower qualified racer will have to change frequency.
(9) In the event of inclement weather, unusable track conditions or both, race entry fees will be refunded the following race day to the racers that did not complete 2 rounds of qualifying.
(10)Running vehicles outside of the track, in the pits, or parking lot is not permitted. Vehicles must be inside the fence at all times.
(11)The track is only to be watered, repaired, or changed by XRC officials
(12)All vehicles must cross the finish line (transponder loop) under their own power. If you are a pit person or friend of the racer who’s car broke, don’t cheat by carrying the car over the loop/starting line for the lap that was not completed.
(13)The track is only to be used when doing so will not damage the surface. Using the track when too wet will damage the track and vehicle and is not tolerated.
(14)Only one registered driver per car can compete. Allowing someone else to qualify or run the main for you is absolutely unfair to other racers and is not legal. We know this is just hobby racing, but this rule should not be broken. Your results will not count, for that race or qualifier, if there is a problem.
(15)Using multiple cars in a given race day is legal and acceptable. The car that was used to start a qualifier or main is the car that must be used for that entire race, or heat. Switching to another car because yours broke is not legal. You do have the option of repairing your car or borrowing one for the next race, or heat. You can not use more than one car in a race.
(16)The facility is closed during unsafe weather conditions.
(17)The track may be closed for rebuild, repairs, or other reason without notice.
Patrons agree that XRC officials, or representatives reserve the right to direct participants or spectators as necessary. Failure to comply with direction may result in being asked to leave which will be enforced by authorities if necessary.
(18)Do not climb or jump on the fence/barrier. Use the designated entrances to the track area.
(19)Alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited at XRC events and are not legal at the track at any time! There will be a zero tolerance policy when enforcing this rule. If you do, then you will be sent home. No exceptions. Please don’t make someone call the police! We will not be covered by insurance if you violate this rule. We appreciate your cooperation with this.
(20)Misuse or damage to the track, facility, and park will be prosecuted by XRC Raceway.

SECTION II
STOP AND GO’S
If a driver or pit person has done something illegal, the Race Director will instruct the driver to drive his car into the pit lane and stop. The driver may exit the pit and continue in the race when the race director grants permission. This is a Stop & Go

GROUNDS FOR STOP & GO’S (not limited to:)
(1) Unsportsmanlike driving
(2) Intentional car bumping (hammering)
(3) Jump starting or non-motionless car at start of main
(4) Short cutting
(5) Driving against traffic
(6) Recklessly jumping off jumps into oncoming traffic.
(7) Applying the throttle while car is being marshaled
(8) Servicing and or refueling car/truck during a stop & go
(9) Careless speed or driving in pit lane
(10) Causing an accident while exiting pit lane
(10)Pit person/s standing, walking or running in the pit lane or on any part of the racing surface
(11)Obstruction of pit lane by your vehicle and or pit person/s
(12)Refueling a car anywhere but on the pit wall
(13)Pitman crossing the track after cars down has been called to start a main event

SECTION III
CORNER MARSHALING/ PITTING
(1) Racers are required to corner marshal after every race they are scheduled to be in. There will be numbered cones on the track, you will marshal at the cone that matches your car number printed on the heat sheet. If you fail to marshal on time we will remove one lap from your best qualifying time just before setting up the mains.
(2) If for some reason you are unable to marshal when it is your turn, it will be your responsibility to get a replacement. If you are registered in two or more classes and are back to back don’t complain and expect the Race Director to change the order of races. The simple fix is to get someone to marshal for you.
(3) Only another member or registered racer may substitute, and you will be responsible for their actions. If you use a substitute make those arrangements before racing begins. When your race is over, turn off your equipment, return your transponder, place your equipment on the table next to the driver’s stand and get out on the track!
(4) When marshaling a car that has gone off the track or has flipped, PLACE IT on the track where it left the racing surface, pointing in the correct direction. Marshals’, turning a car over is more important than repairing a car.
(5) A corner marshal is not required to assist a car until the driver stops revving the motor.
(6) If you are marshaling a gas car that has just flamed out, you will place the car at the nearest outside portion of the track just inside the fence. You will not deliver or throw the car to the pit person.
(7) If you are a pit person, you must go around the outside of the track to get the car from the marshal. Do not run across the track.
(8) If a gas car is restarted it must exit the pit lane and not be carried to the spot where it flamed out. Pit people; do not place the car on the straight.
(9) Your car must complete a lap for the lap counter to count it.

SECTION IV
BLACK FLAGS
(1) A black flag may be used at any time for a racers unsportsmanlike conduct and or abusive language to others.
(2) A black flag means that the racer being black-flagged is finished. He will not be allowed to race for the remainder of the day or event and will not be entitled to a refund of race fees.

SECTION V
PENALTIES AND PROTESTS
(1) The Race Director is the person who has been put in charge of races.
(2) The Race Director will enforce stop & go.
(3) Second offense of the same will result in disqualification of current qualifier.
(4) The third offense of the same will result in a Black Flag.
(5) Vulgar or abusive language will not be tolerated. First offense will result in a verbal warning from the Race Director.
(6) Second offense will result in a Black Flag.
(7) If the problem persists from the same person after receiving the Black Flag, that person will be suspended from the racing facility for two weeks.
(8) If the problem reoccurs from the same person after suspension, that person will be terminated from XRC with no refund of race entry fee or membership dues and will not be allowed to race with, or visit XRC events for the remainder of the year.
(9) Any confrontation that results in physical contact will be enforced with termination of XRC membership and no refund of race entry fee or membership dues. All racing privileges at any XRC event will also be forfeited for the remainder of the year.

SECTION VI
CLASS SPECIFICATIONS

NOVICE - STOCK TRUCK, BUGGY - MOD TRUCK, BUGGY
1/10 GAS TRUCK - 1/8 BUGGY - GAS MONSTER TRUCK - ARENA TRUCK

(1) The minimum number of entries to hold a race for a specific class is three.
(2) Any class not listed may be run, provided the minimum number of entries is met. It is possible that if only a few cars are in a class, they will run with other similar classes, i.e. (Stock Buggy/Stock Truck). This would be determined by the Race Director.
(3) If a Novice racer continues to win, the Race Director will inform him that he will race with the Stock or Modified class. He will no longer be allowed to race as a Novice.
(4) Racers in Novice are not allowed to run in any other class.
(5) If you have signed up in the Novice class and are experienced enough to impress the Race Director with your abilities, the Race Director will move you to the available Stock or Modified class out of fairness.
(6) You can only run one 1/8 scale class and one Gas Truck class, running 1/8 expert and 1/8 Sport and /or Expert Gas Truck and Sport Gas Truck is unfair and unacceptable.
(7)There will be no working on vehicle in pit lane. All work must be preformed with the vehicle setting on the 4 x 4 on pit lane wall. To do a pit stop the vehicle must be removed from pit lane set on the board, gassed, then set back down in pit lane.
(8) The purpose of qualifying is to be in the front of the pack at the start of the main. Eventually you will have to drive around cars that are slower because of lack of horsepower, driver skill or both. Each class will qualify with an IFMAR style start. IFMAR (International Federation of Model Auto Racing.)
(9) The LEMANS start has all the cards equally spaced apart. All cars go on the tone. Even though they are all on the same clock, they are racing against each other. Learning to make clean passes of other cars for position is good practice for the main.
(10)The IFMAR start is more like a time trial. You start when the Race computer calls your Car number. The computer will pause before he calls the next name. This spreads the cars out and minimizes wrecks and always eliminates a first turn pile-up. This type of qualifying is the most popular at large events and is the closest thing to individual time trial qualifying. It is important to remember that every car is running against it’s own clock. If a faster car is trying to pass you, it would be advisable for you to move over and let him make a clean pass. If you are inconsiderate and don’t let him pass safely, he will overtake you by force and probably cause a wreck, then you will both turn in a slower qualifying time. With IFMAR style qualifying, you should not race against the other cars. You should run at your own pace, don’t crash, and try to produce the most consistent lap times. Usually the driver with the most consistent lap times is the top qualifier. (T.Q.)
**(11)The Autoscore computer program that we use, only accepts your best score out of all the qualifiers to determine your starting position in the appropriate main. If you totally miss a qualifier, it will not affect your qualifying score.
(12)Gas cars and trucks will warm up during the normal time interval between heats. This could be only two or three minutes, so get your gas car out there on time. We will not tolerate transmitters being turned on too soon before the cars from the previous race have exited the track. Please think of others before you turn on your radio.
(13)All vehicles must have a body when driving on the track during racing and practice.
(14)Any gas vehicle that produces unnecessary loud exhaust because of malfunction will immediately exit the track and be turned off. If your pipe comes off, DO NOT yell at the marshal after he turns off your car for you.
(15)Typically, we run three qualifiers and then the mains. (time and weather permitting)
(16)All electric and gas qualifiers will be 5 minutes.
(17)All electric mains will be 5 minutes.
(18)All gas "A" mains will be 15 minutes, lower mains will be 5 minutes.
(19)If you don’t make it to the track on time for your qualifier, don’t sweat it, that’s why we run multiple qualifiers. We shouldn’t wait for one driver because he is not ready on time; it’s just not far to the racers who are.
(20)All stock electric classes are limited to six cell batteries and ROAR or NORRCA legal motors.
(21)Running a stock motor that has been opened is legal as long as it has only been opened for the purpose of maintenance. (limited to turning COM, replacing bushings.) The rebuild able stock motors are legal at XRC.
(22)Only stock motors are allowed in the Novice class.
(23)If there is a question of any racers stock motor being legal, (too fast), the person questioning that racer will front $40.00 to the Race Director for the buyback of that motor. Upon initiation of the buyback, the Race Director will choose the appropriate person to tear down and inspect the motor. If the motor is found to be legal, the owner of the motor will get the $40.00 from the Race Director and the motor in question. If the motor is found to be illegal, the person initiating the buyback will get their money back, and the person using the illegal motor will forfeit his qualifying position and will start in the back of the main and the motor parts will be discarded properly. Occasionally we will tech all motors and batteries in the Novice and/or Stock classes for legality. XRC reserves the right to inspect any individual racer’s equipment without another racer’s question. Only drivers in each specific class can question another racer’s motor or other equipment.

SECTION VII
VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS
All vehicle specifications are as per R.O.A.R. current rules. XRC reserves the right to make exceptions to these rules, and any rules that XRC incorporates that may or may not contradict or appear to contradict R.O.A.R. rules.

SECTION VIII
CONCLUSION
As in any form of competition there must be rules. Rules are useless unless they are enforced. This rulebook is not intended to intimidate anyone. Only under very unusual circumstances do we need to refer to these rules for anyone. These rules are guidelines to keep our racing fun, fair and family oriented. Read this rulebook on a regular basis, and it will make you a better racer and XRC member. Thank you for reading this information.
